Chamber Music Institute

Mission Statement
The Chamber Music Institute provides an opportunity for young musicians to collaborate in chamber music settings with other talented students while under the tutelage of professional musicians and instructors. Chamber Music Institute musicians will be nurtured to raise their musical awareness in chamber ensembles and to communicate this through the language of music.

Individual participants to the Chamber Music Institute must meet the following criteria for application:

• Completed application form
• Letter of recommendation from your private instructor or music director
• Audition cassette tape/CD/VHS video/DVD containing two contrasting solo movements (with or without piano accompaniment)

Existing student ensembles to the CMI must meet the following criteria
for application:

• Completed application form for each member
• Letter of recommendation for each member
• Audition cassette tape/CD/VHS video/DVD containing two contrasting solo movements (with or without piano accompaniment)

plus

• one movement of a work by the student ensemble

Applications materials must be postmarked by May 18, 2009.
