Jacklyn Chan
Jacklyn Chan, native of Hong Kong, received her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Indianapolis and Master of Music Degree from Butler University in piano performance. Her principal teachers include Dr. Richard Ratliff and Artist-in-Residence Panayis Lyras. Ms. Chan performs frequently in the Faculty Artist Series at the University of Indianapolis. Her keen interest in exploring the use of motion in enhancing the process of music making led her to study Dalcroze Eurhythmics with Dr. Robert Abramson of the Juilliard School of Music. As a music educator, Ms. Chan was recently awarded by the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts for encouraging and supporting students who have been recognized for their exceptional artistic achievements. This summer, she is invited and will be giving a series of piano pedagogical workshops in Hong Kong. Ms. Chan holds the position of Associate Faculty of Music at the University of Indianapolis where she is Associate Director of the Community Music Center. She also served as adjunct piano faculty at Indiana University in Indianapolis and instructor of keyboard skills classes at Butler University.
