Jo Ann Domb
Jo Ann Domb is active as a mezzo-soprano
soloist, music educator, and administrator. Following a
November 1998 and 2001 election, she is serving as Secretary
of the National Association of Schools of Music for which
she has visited over 50 university music departments nationwide
in her role as accreditation evaluator. Domb, with her husband,
spent three weeks in 1999 at an International Symposium
in Taiwan lecturing and performing in Taipei and Hualien,
Taiwan and in 2001 spent a sabbatical leave researching
Taiwan aboriginal music in Taiwan. Domb was International
Vice President/Music Adviser of Mu Phi Epsilon, professional
music fraternity, from 1989-95. She has served as Faculty
Advisor for the University of Indianapolis chapter of Mu
Phi Epsilon since 1983, and is currently President of the
Indianapolis Alumni Chapter. Domb teaches music education
classes and is chair of the Faculty Honors Committee at
the University of Indianapolis. She serves on the Boards
of the Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra, the Fine Arts Society,
and Oberlin College. She holds degrees from Oberlin College
(B.M.) and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory
of Music (M.M. and D.M.E.).
