The UIndy Jazz Festival is part of Jazz Week (below)
Bands will be heard for adjudication and clinics from 8 am to 5 pm Friday and Saturday, Feb. 29 and March 1. All students receive free admission to the concert on the night of their participation. 2 tickets will be supplied for directors. Bands will perform and receive their clinic on stage.

Jazz Week 2008
UIndy's first annual Jazz Week kicks off with concerts featuring combos and big bands from the Midwest. All concerts are free for students of public schools or colleges. Monday and Tuesday night concerts are free to the public. Wednesday through Saturday concerts are $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for seniors (65 or older).
February 25 - Bossa Rio Sextet
Harry Miedema's Brazilian music group will perform great arrangements with the unique instrumentation of two trombones, tenor sax, and rhythm section.
February 26 - UIndy Jazz Ensemble
UIndy's own big band will perform jazz standards featuring some guest soloists.
February 27 - Jamey Aebersold Quartet
Indiana's own jazz legend will perform with his quartet in a return concert.
February 28 - Famous Jazz Orchestra
Vaughn Wiester leads his big band with unique instrumentation from Columbus, Ohio.
February 29 - UIndy Jazz Festival - Afternoon
Top public school jazz bands perform.
February 29 - BWJO
Lead by Mark Buselli and Brent Wallarab, this nationally recognized big band will perform original arrangements.
March 1 - UIndy Jazz Festival - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Top public school jazz bands perform.
March 1 - Blue Wisp Big Band
John Von Ohlen brings the Blue Wisp band to UIndy. The band has been together for 28 years and swings hard over the foundation of drum legend Von Ohlen, an Indianapolis native.

Jazz Artist Series
This is the first year for the jazz series. The series will celebrate the riches of jazz performers in Indianapolis and the Midwest on various Wednesday nights. Presentations will include discussions with the performers. In the informal setting of room 115 of the Christel DaHaan Fine Arts Center, you will hear great music and have the opportunity to speak with the performers.
